Boost your students’ multisyllabic word reading with this fun sight word game.
Players must be able to use word and syllable decoding skills to correctly read over 80 high-frequency multisyllabic words to get rid of their cards. These words are commonly encountered in text and will help students become more fluent readers and spellers.
The skills used in these words include syllable division, v-e syllables, closed syllables, open syllables, r-controlled syllables, le syllables, vowel teams, prefix, suffixes, roots, and common spelling patterns. A list of words used in this game is included. An editable PowerPoint file is also included to customize the game to your needs.
This game can be used as extra practice for students using any Orton Gillingham-based reading program. Cards may also be used as flashcards or as a matching game activity. This game provides differentiated instruction for tutoring sessions, general classroom use, homeschool, and special education.

I made this game for a few students that I work with in a small group. On the editable cards I also used words they’ll encounter throughout this year in their subject areas. It’s been a really great way to practice new vocabulary and increase fluency.

I have used this with some of my reading groups, to provide additional practice with multisyllabic words decoding skills. Also good for vocabulary discussions. Thank you!

This game is a lot of fun to play and the kids don’t even realize that they are working on skills at the same time. We have been doing a lot with the different syllable types of multi-syllable words and this puts it together.

This resource was an incredible addition to my classroom!

The kids were happy and engaged. It was easy to use but not to edit (ppt). This will be a staple in my centers.

Worked great for small group instruction and independent practice.

Love this resource and the kids were immediately engaged. I wish it were editable on google slides as I am not proficient on power point, but otherwise it was great and I look forward to adapting it for my littles (who saw the product and got jealous it wasn’t for them!).
Thanks!

I LOVE this product! It did take some prep time to prepare and laminate the cards, but this is such a great way to shake up my guided reading groups- especially the groups that struggle with accuracy. Thank you!

Love how I could modify the uno cards so that I could use them for any of my Wilson lessons.
