Practice the changing y to i spelling rule with this super fun digital game. Students use their knowledge of adding suffixes to words ending in y to explore Spelling Island and collect island gifts. Classroom and distance learning are easy with Google Slides™ or PowerPoint™, plus there is an interactive PDF that can be played offline.
Strengthen decoding, reading, spelling, and vocabulary skills. These are great review for reading intervention, special education, and Orton-Gillingham programs.
Students get an island gift and ribbons by successfully choosing the correct spelling for each word + suffix combination. Successfully stack the tikis to advance. An incorrect answer sends them back to the start of that stack. Mastery of all three questions earns a gift and advances the player to the next tiki stack. The game is self-checking.
