The world has changed over the last few weeks. Distance education, eLearning, at-home education, homeschooling, digital learning… Whatever term you use, educators and parents now have to support kids at home in new ways. For most, this is uncharted territory and uncertain times.
I put together a list of distance learning resources and online learning sites that you can use to help support struggling readers. There are many great resources available. These are just a few that I have used or know help students who need extra support. These are not limited to special education; they provide useful activities for all students.
Some of these resources are free, and some for cost. Check out each site, as many of currently offering free options for those dealing with COVID-19 shutdowns.
Make sure you check out some free and new digital learning resources from Tammy’s Toolbox at the end of this post.
Teaching Tip: Make sure to find the right balance for your child between apps and online practice vs. non-screen time activities. Also, look for apps that have kids using multiple senses and problem-solving skills to find answers.
